Οι Metallica πήραν το Metal Grammy – Σάρωσαν boygenius και Paramore σε Alternative και Rock

To δέκατο grammy της καριέρας τους, πήραν οι Metallica, που επικράτησαν στην κατηγορία Metal Performance με το 72 Seasons. Είχαν για αντιπάλους τους Ghost, Spiritbox, Slipknot και Disturbed. Αυτό ήταν το πρώτο grammy που παίρνουν από το 2009 και έβδομο στην κατηγορία Metal.

Στις Rock και Alternative κατηγορίες τα περισσότερα βραβεία πήραν οι boygenius και Paramore με τρία και δύο αντίστοιχα. Rock άλμπουμ της χρονιάς ήταν το This is Why των Paramore και alternative άλμπουμ της χρονιά το The Record των Boygenius. Με άδεια χέρια έμειναν οι Foo Fighters παρά τις τρεις υποψηφιότητες τους.
