Χρυσές Σφαίρες: Nomadland, Borat και Crown οι μεγάλοι νικητές

To βράδυ της Κυριακής πραγματοποιήθηκε η τελετή απονομής για τις Χρυσές Σφαίρες που ήταν φυσικά προσαρμοσμένη στα δεδομένα της εποχής με πολλαπλές συνδέσεις. Το Nomadland επιβεβαίωσε ότι φέτος είναι η χρονιά του αφού κέρδισε στην κατηγορία της καλύτερης δραματικής ταινίας ενώ η Chloé Zhao που βραβεύθηκε για τη σκηνοθεσία έγινε μόλις η δεύτερη γυναίκα που το καταφέρνει μετά τη Barbra Streisand πίσω στο μακρινό 1983.

H δεύτερη ταινία του Borat επικράτησε στην κατηγορία καλύτερης Κωμωδίας ή Μιούζικαλ με τον Σάσα Μπάρον Κόεν να βραβεύεται για τον πρώτο ανδρικό ρόλο, ενώ η συγκινητική στιγμή της βραδιάς ήρθε με τη νίκη του Chadwick Boseman που βραβεύθηκε μετά θάνατον για το Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Στις σειρές το Crown του Netflix ήταν ο απόλυτος κυρίαρχος, αφού πήρε το βραβείο καλύτερης δραματικής σειράς αλλά και για τους ρόλους των Εmma Corrin, Josh O’Connor και Gillian Anderson. Η άλλη μεγάλη επιτυχία του Netflix, το Queen’s Gambit πήρε το βραβείο στην κατηγορία Limited Series και η πρωταγωνίστρια του Anya Taylor-Joy βραβεύθηκε στην κατηγορία πρώτου γυναικείου ρόλου.

To Schitt’s Creek βραβεύθηκε ως η καλύτερη κωμική σειρά με την πρωταγωνίστρια του,  Catherine O’Hara, να κερδίζει στην κατηγορία της ενώ βραβεία για τους ρόλους τους πήραν επίσης οι Daniel Kaluuya, John Boyega, Jodie Foster, Rosamund Pike, Jason Sudeikis και Mark Ruffalo.  Στη μάχη των studio, το Netflix ήταν ο απόλυτος πρωταγωνιστής με 10 νίκες μέσα απο συνολικά 42 υποψηφιότητες.
